An Abundance of Apricots

Summer in the garden smells like ripe apricots this time of year. The Moorpark Early apricot is juicy and sweet, but they are finished now for the season. This is my Trevatt apricot, grown more for dried fruit but still nice stewed in a light sugar syrup. The birds got a few of them over Christmas, but I love seeing the colourful fruit on the tree.
I have picked some this morning to stew and have for desert tonight with the Salted Caramel and Pistachio Ice Cream that is setting in the freezer.
