Alice Waters, The Mother of Slow Food

Alice Waters was in Australia this week for the very first time. Such and inspiring woman. I first heard of her in the late 1980's. Her famous restaurant Chez Panisse and the cook books that followed. Many of the Chefs trained in her restaurant have gone on to have successful restaurants and careers of their own. Alice Waters is a pioneer in the slow food movement and the first to begin kitchen garden programs in schools. This idea was later taken up by Stephanie Alexander  and Jamie Oliver. There is a interesting interview with Alice Waters on the ABC website here. Scroll down to the bottom of the page for the download.
Be inspired!
And if you watched the program to the end. Alice Waters got her wish for the White House to have a kitchen garden.
